One of the main causes
of aging is the apparent loss of fat in your face. By using the
Liposuction Technique, fat can be harvested from one part of the body
and then reinjected into another part of the body. This is different
from collagen because it is not a foreign substance to your body; it
will not be rejected by your immune system.
It is effective in reducing the signs of aging around the eyes, mouth,
cheeks, and other areas of the face. However, deep scars, congenital
deformities, and other post surgical defects can also be treated.
The procedure is
almost always preformed in the doctors office, and take anywhere from
15 to 60 minutes. More extensive procedures such as injections
into the lips, cheeks, or folds between nose and cheeks, sedation may
be required.
Discomfort associated
with injectables is normally relatively mild. In many cases, fat
injections are performed without anesthesia. However some
patients may find it painful depending on the site of injection. For
instance, the area of skin around the lips is one of the more sensitive
parts of the body. Ask your physician about this.
Recently a new methods
of fat injection has gained popularity. The procedure is called
lipostructure. This procedure attempts to keep the extracted fat
cells alive. The cells are taken from the patient’s body, and placed
into the new area much like traditional fat injections. These fat
cells are kept alive, and a blood supply is established to the cells.
The thinking behind lipostructure is that by keeping the fat cells
alive, they will not be reabsorbed into the body making the results
last longer. This procedure is relatively new, and more extensive. It
also requires very specific training on the part of the surgeon.
Cost of these
procedures vary, and depend also on how many locations a patient
desires treatment.
