Martin
K. Fallor, M.D.
Doctor / Lawyer Believes Eye Surgery
Is More Than An Open And Shut Case
They
say the eyes are the mirrors of the soul. There
are 12,500 pair of eyes reflecting back to the world the work of Martin K. Fallor, M..D. That's the number of cosmetic eye surgeries
performed by this gifted, Board-Certified ophthalmic and reconstructive surgeon over the
past 13 years.
A
natural, improved post-operative appearance is a much more desirable result than an
obviously surgical, artificial look.
In
accomplishing this feat, Dr. Fallor has traveled to nine locations throughout California,
performing surgeries for cosmetic and medical reasons (sometimes a combination of both) on
people from all walks of life.
Such as:
Reverend
Royal Blue of Palo Cedro, who opted for surgery because, at the end of the day, I sit in
my chair and just hold up my eyelids. It
felt so good
Receptionist
Ramona Butler of Anderson, who noted with glee that after surgery (on her eyes, remember), acquaintances would declare, My gosh,
you've lost weight!
Airline
pilots, who needed the career-saving surgery because eyelids flying at half-mast can cause
excessive eye watering and fatigue as well as impaired peripheral vision.
It's Hard To Lay Down The Law
When Your Eyelids Won't Stand Up
Dr.
Fallor recalls helping a Laguna Beach defense attorney whose excessive tearing caused by
drooping lids made him look over emotional. He
was self-conscious because he would address the jury and his eyes would tear up, recounts
Dr. Fallor, who remedied the situation.
We
have no evidence of how many cases the attorney won after the surgery in comparison with
before reaching a verdict about his appearance, but it is true that Dr. Fallor has made a
judgment to add a few more initials to his name. In
his spare time, the M.D. recently completed law school and is now preparing to take the
bar exam. As someone who became a surgeon by
the age of 22, Dr. Fallor should pass on his first try with flying colors.
On the
physician front, Dr. Fallor continues to specialize in cosmetic eye surgery. He has become an expert in the field, using both
laser and traditional surgical techniques. I
wanted to stick to one specialty and excel at it, and eyes interested me most.
He
cautions patients considering eye surgery with a rhetorical question. With cosmetic surgery technology advancing at such
a rapid rate, how can any one doctor remain on top of all the latest techniques and be
excellent at each procedure?
Under The Lid Is The Logic
Behind The Man And The M.D.
Thanks
to both nature and nurturing, Dr. Fallor is a conservative, well-reasoned physician. As an intern, he helped develop the trauma and
reconstructive service currently in place at the L.A. County-USC Medical Center, and also
received specialty training across town at the world-famous Jules Stein Eye Institute at
UCLA. Even patients not fortunate enough to
visit Dr. Fallor in person may derive the benefits of his expertise; this highly regarded aesthetic physician has
instructed several colleagues and written numerous publications.
Asked
to speak at a recent medical conference in Hawaii on the topic of balancing a professional
and personal life, the young yet seasoned Dr. Fallor shared his philosophy of
blending life. He told a rapt audience, It's difficult to strike a balance in life, but I
try to blend elements of my practice and my family.
He
does that in part by considering his staff as part of his extended family. My staff members are a big part of my life. We are a team whose common goal is to give each
patient the best care possible.
He
doesn't neglect his immediate family, either. With
my family, I share quality time, going to breakfast on weekends and relishing enjoyable
walks on the beach.
This
excellent physician and wise man recommends a healthy blend to his patients as well. Believing less is more, he counsels, Don't try to
get rid of every flaw. A natural, improved post-operative appearance is a
much more desirable result than an obviously surgical, artificial look.
